Who are the REV heat shrink tubes Ø 3 mm suitable for?

Areas of application and selection criteria

According to the manufacturer, the hoses are intended for the following applications; the test points help with selection:

• Insulating thin conductors
• Insulating small compression joints
• Repairing ladders and cable insulation
• Cut sections to the appropriate length if necessary.
• The component must fit into a 3 mm diameter hole before shrinking.
• Note the end diameter of 1.5 mm for a secure fit.
• Shrink with a suitable heat source at approximately 125 °C
• Work on power lines should only be carried out when the power is off.

Your advantage: long sections for thin conductors

With a length of 20 cm, it can also cover longer insulating sections on thin conductors or cut into several short pieces; according to the manufacturer, the hose is resistant to oils, brake fluids and UV radiation.

Choose the right size

The hose must be able to be slid over the component before shrinking and fit snugly after shrinking.

Suitable for 1.5 to 3 mm

Theoretically, the hose is suitable for components with an outer diameter between 1.5 and just under 3 mm.

Larger diameters

For other sizes up to Ø 15 mm, we offer the REV heat shrink tubing set 12 cm, black and the colored REV set with 4 cm sections .

Processing and limits

According to REV, the shrinking temperature is 125 °C; conductors and surrounding components must not be overheated. Work on electrical cables must only be carried out when the power is off.
