Saint-Gobain Weber's weber.tec 911, formerly Plastikol 1, is a ready-to-use, solvent-based, fiber-reinforced bitumen sealant. It is used for sealing and repairing roofs, gables, and structures, for example, at lead and zinc joints, or for repairing cracks or blisters in old roofing felt. According to Weber, the sealant also adheres to slightly damp surfaces.
The filler is aimed at roofers, tradespeople and homeowners who want to repair damaged areas on bitumen roofs, connections or components; for large-area sealing of basement walls in contact with the ground, a thick bitumen coating such as Weber Bitumen 1K is more suitable .
Typical uses and points to check before ordering:
The 1 kg can is ready for immediate use and is well suited for spot repairs without mixing; you can find other sealing and repair products from the manufacturer in our Weber Saint-Gobain category .
The substrate, layer thickness and weather conditions are crucial, as they determine the adhesion and drying of the repair area.
The substrate must be frost-free, firm, clean and sufficiently dry; Weber primes dusty surfaces and concrete with weber.tec 902.
Apply a maximum of 4 mm per application; according to Weber, drying takes approximately 5–8 days depending on the weather, layer thickness and substrate.
Strong sunlight can cause blisters to form more easily, therefore apply thinner coats in several passes; Weber protects zinc gutters from acidic oxidation residues of the bitumen with weber.tec 905.
