Who is the STR plug suitable for?

The plug is aimed at plasterers and ETICS specialists who need to set the EJOT STR U 2G screw anchor flush with the surface and seal each anchor shaft.

Areas of application and test points

According to EJOT and the information sheets of a system operator, the following use cases and test points apply:

• Flush mounting of the ejotherm STR U 2G
• Flush mounting of the ejotherm STR U
• Closure after flush mounting with additional plate VT 90 or SBL 140 plus
• Insert the plug into the dowel shaft after setting the dowel.
• Not for recessed mounting; an STR washer covers it there.
• The ejotherm STR H comes with its own plug already included.
• Adjust the order quantity to the number of flush-mounted dowels.
• Determine the number and spacing of anchors according to the verification of the ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite System).

Your advantage with flush doweling

The EPS plug seals the dowel shaft with insulating material; for the flush-mounted STR U 2G with EPS plug, the manufacturer's documentation specifies a χ-value of 0.002 W/K.

Plugs or roundels

The type of closure you need depends on how the dowel is mounted.

Flush mounting

If the dowel plate sits flush on the insulation board, the dowel shaft is sealed with the STR plug.

Recessed mounting

If the dowel is countersunk according to the STR principle, a washer covers the recess instead, such as the EJOT STR washer MW made of mineral wool.

Notes and limitations

EJOT specifies the plug for STR U 2G and STR U; for other dowels, the tested documentation does not contain manufacturer approval.
