The vdw 800 paving joint mortar in basalt is a two-component, solvent-free, epoxy resin-based joint mortar for natural stone and concrete paving, slabs, and clinker bricks. According to the manufacturer, it is suitable for patios, paths, and areas with light traffic loads, is water-permeable, resistant to sweepers, and highly resistant to frost and de-icing salt. The minimum joint width is 5 mm, and one bucket contains 25 kg.
Typical uses and points to check before processing:
The epoxy resin mortar is self-compacting, abrasion-resistant and suitable for vacuum sweepers; for narrow joints of 2 to 4 mm in concrete block paving, there is vdw VarioSand jointing sand .
The load, joint width and substructure are crucial, as the mortar cannot absorb any settling from the subsoil.
For joint widths of 15 mm and above, the depth must be at least twice as large; for small paving stones with a 10 mm joint and a 30 mm depth, the manufacturer's table calculates a weight of approximately 8.1 kg/m².
Resin and hardener are mixed with water in a ratio of 100:3.6; then, at 20 °C, there are approximately 15 minutes for processing.
Clean the area thoroughly beforehand, sweep away any residue with a damp coconut broom, cordon off for at least 12 hours; full reopening to traffic will take place after 7 days.
